because the spirit in you is greater, the what? the spirit is greater, not you, not your ability but the spirit, this reminds me of Zachariah 4:6 when both Zachariah and the priests were trying to rebuild a temple that was stopped by the opposition, God said to them “not by might or power but by the spirit of God” you can be able to overcome and shine the light in you by the empowerment of the spirit.
The spirit is against you, not the person, remember our struggle is spiritual, so spiritual there are spirits, the person is the body, the container that is being controlled by the soul, the soul by the spirit,
The spirit is the real commander of the soul and the body, it’s the spirit influencing the soul which is the (mind, will and emotions) then the soul influencing the body to act. the body is a container of the two. so, its time wasting to fight the container, because a container is being used and controlled,there is more of what we dont see than what we can see,dont deal with people on limited values (facially) but deal with at invisible level, but present a spiritual level,this reminds me of Jesus when he realized that he has a betrayer in his life, he still washed the betrayer’s feet and lived peacefully with everyone. “Vengeance is of God”
What is the spirit, the spirit is the wind, we can not see it with physical eyes but its effects can be seen and felt. this spirit is contained by the body. do you understand now,
So now this spirit of man can be controlled by the holy spirit or evil spirit depend on spirit that is exposed to. That is why the root cause of any behaviour is the spirit, the commander of the soul-body. realise now that what you are facing is the spirit behind.
Now God is saying
There is the spirit that is greater, it is greater than any other, it was there before the foundations of the spirit world and earth, any existing spirit is a foe defeated. when you accept this spirit, he comes as a power to empower your spirit for greatness.
People of God were under pharaoh the spirit of bondage for 430 years, meaning generation after generation this spirit of bondage would not let go,
What stopped their fathers was still stopping them as the children.
